GEE-Based Ecological Environment Variation Analysis under Human Projects in Typical China Loess Plateau Region

The China Loess Plateau (CLP) is a unique geomorphological unit with abundant coal resources but fragile ecological environment. Since the implementation of Western Development plan in 2000, Grain for Green Project (GGP), mining, and urbanization have been extensively promoted by government CLP. However, research on influence these human projects environment (EE) still lacking. In this study, we investigated spatial–temporal variation EE typical CLP region using Remote Sensing Ecological Index (RSEI) based Google Earth Engine (GEE). We obtained long RSEI time series from 2002–2022, used trend analysis rescaled range to predict changing trends EE. Finally, Geodetector verify three (GGP, urbanization). Our results show that GGP was major driving factor changes region, while mining had significant local effects provides valuable support protection sustainable social development relatively underdeveloped northwest China.
